Fame Trains 2,590 Students

The Fashioned and Made for Excellence Foundation has successfully completed the 2nd edition of its Fame Global Leadership Program 2020 which impacted the lives of 2,590 underserved Public Senior Secondary School Students in 6 Local Government areas in Ibadan Oyo State.

The Leadership development program, a school-based, in-class delivery initiative organized by FAME for Senior Secondary School Students in SS2 – SS3 ran for a duration of over six weeks across 42 Public Senior Secondary Schools from October 13th to December 3rd. 2020.

The Fame Global Program is the flagship program of the Fashioned and Made for Excellence Foundation involving leadership training, experiential activities and mentoring. It is focused on concepts on leadership, values, identity, character, purpose, active citizenship, the SDGs and empowers young people with skills required for success at school, and in life. 

A statement by the Executive Director Mr Raphael Stephen in Ibadan on Friday said 98 per cent of the 2,590 beneficiaries testified to the positive impact of the program on them and felt they have experienced significant growth in their development as leaders.

He said, “the organization believes in a future where every secondary school student has access to quality leadership education, and all the beneficiaries will continuously be mentored in their various schools through the Fame Clubs of the organization at their respective schools till graduation.” 

Through this initiative, over 11,000 deserving teenagers in Public Senior Secondary Schools in Ibadan have been served since 2017 till date with the help of over 1,000 www.thefameinitiative.org volunteer facilitators.

This program embodies the organization’s commitment to continuously investing in the future of Africa by collaborating with key stakeholders across Nigeria, and Africa to provide access to quality leadership education in the language young people understand and to complement the Oyo State Government’s efforts in providing quality education, raising the standards of State-owned institutions and improving the academic performance of students at all levels.

We are grateful to all our Fame Volunteers, for their unwavering commitment even in the face of tough conditions at our public schools who stayed the course and attended every session each week until the programs were completed this month, our Board Members, donors, and the Oyo State Ministry of Education for working with us to educate and grow more value-driven and effective leaders for Africa.
