Every August 12th yearly, the world recognizes and celebrates the youth in its societies. It celebrates the initiatives of young people and recognizes the challenges youth’s face in this day and age. This awareness began in 2000. It was set up by the United Nations to celebrate the contribution of young people in improving their communities and world at large.
The Fashioned and Made for Excellence Foundation. Is a youth-centered and powered organization that provides access to leadership education for secondary school students. In celebrating International Youth’s day, we celebrate the efforts of our teams, volunteers, beneficiaries and partners in bridging the leadership gap in Nigeria.
This year, the FAME Foundation as well as other youth organizations will be partnering with LEAP Africa to commemorate the International Youth Day 2021 on an initiative called “Youth Day of Service (YDOS).
The Youth Day of service is an annual week-long pan-African youth-led social impact campaign that begins on the 12th of August every year.
The goal is to spark agency and ingenuity amongst young people in various countries in Africa towards development that can be sustained. It seeks to encourage participation of youths in indigenous problems in their immediate community, foster volunteerism and elevate youths to become continuous active change catalysts.
About YDOS
Youth Day of Service is an annual week-long, pan-African youth-led social impact campaign that begins on August 12 every year which is also ‘International Youth Day’. YDoS is designed to ignite the agency and creativity of young people across Africa towards sustainable development and promote a culture of communal support and community development. The week-long campaign fosters the spirit of volunteerism within the youth population and inspires them to be active change agents in their communities continuously. The campaign theme for this year is ‘Youthful and Useful.’
